Description

Lyophilized solid and gastrointestinal hormone that stimulates the release of a pancreatic, NaHCO₃ containing aqueous secretion. This, in turn, neutralizes the hydrochloric acid that has found its way into the small intestine. The gene of secretin is also expressed in brain, heart, kidney, lung, and testis.
