Description

Ac-Val-Lys-Leu-Gln-ACC is an M^pro peptide substrate for both SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV main protease (M^pro, also known as 3CL^pro). A HyCoSuL (Hybrid Combinatorial Substrate Library) approach determined that this sequence was the most preferred substrate containing all natural/proteinogenic amino among those tested (K_M = 228.4 ± 9.9 µM, K_cat = 0.050 ± 0.002 s^-1, K_cat/K_M = 219 ± 3 M^-1s^-1)
