A synthetic oligopeptide containing cysteine and histidine, PHCKRM, shows ability to scavenge oxygen from superoxide (O2-) and hydroxyl radical (.OH). The antioxidant effect of the peptide may mitigate cancers that involve hydroxyl radical damage.
