Description

This peptide is found within major amyloid peptide structures deposited in the brain of Alzheimer’s patients. N-terminally truncated pyroglutamate-modified beta-Amyloid forms such as Aß(3-42) and Aß (11- 42) have been described as major compounds in the senile plaques. Pyro-Glu modified beta-Amyloid peptides are more resistant to degradation, have higher toxicity, and have a higher propensity for aggregation compared to non-modified beta-Amyloid sequences.
